Crazy times

The past two weeks have been crazy.  Literally.  I'm reviewing a large issuer so the past week was spent doing my homework and trying to get a headstart on the review.  This week has been a long process of trying to get out of the weeds.  I've been at a disadvantage this week because of Monday and the airline industry.  I've had yet another travel experience trying to get to Rogers, Arkansas.

Monday went as follows: up at 3.30 to catch flight to Arkansas; Delta called at 4am due to cancelling the flight; put me on another flight at 11am; get to the airport - check in; flight is delayed which will cause me to miss connecting flight; put on another flight (US Air); race to USAir to check-in; the flight is oversold plus Delta didn't go thru the proper channels to book me on the flight so I'm kicked off by US Air; back to Delta; get on another flight that is oversold; called my travel agent; finally caught a flight at 6pm - got to Arkansas and in bed by 12.30 (1.30am my time) so up almost 24 hours. And, nothing like spending the day in an airport!

Since we're in the area, we went to visit the Wal-Mart musuem.  It is the site of the 1st Wal-Mart 5 and dime store.  Everyone in my group was grabbing and buying tee-shirts, hats, computer mousepads - all with the Wal-Mart logo.  I bought a strawberry moonpie  ;).  I've had chocolate, vanilla, banana but never strawberry.  I didn't even know they existed!  Quel horror!!!  I've been missing out!  (I have to admit - Sam Walton's vision and service to the community was inspirational)

Last night we went to dinner at a little place in Bentonville called Table Mesa.  I had a great dish - Cheap Dates.  A date filled with a mix of gorgonzola and cream cheeses and wrapped in bacon.  Delish!  I can't wait to make it at home!!  As we've been working late, the above is my most exciting event of the week.
